Transportation Flat Fee Stipend – How It Works

To create a simpler, more consistent, and sustainable transportation process for both employees and clients, SnapChef has moved to a flat fee transportation stipend system for select shifts.

Some SnapChef shifts include a flat transportation stipend to help offset travel costs.

• If a stipend is available, it will be clearly listed in the job posting before you accept the shift.
• The flat fee amount will be listed in the job details at the time of acceptance.
• The stipend is paid per shift.
• This is a flat fee — not reimbursement.

The stipend is designed to help cover average travel costs from a SnapChef office location. It may or may not cover your full travel expense.

Important:

• If you live within 12 miles of the site, you are not eligible for the transportation stipend.
• You are responsible for getting to work on time using any method you choose (rideshare, public transportation, carpooling, driving, etc.).
• If your travel costs less than the stipend, you keep the difference.
• If your travel costs more, you are responsible for the additional amount.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does the stipend cover my full transportation cost?
A: Not necessarily. It is a flat per-shift amount designed to help offset average travel costs. It may cover more or less than your actual expense.

Q: Is the stipend based on where I live?
A: No. The stipend is based on the shift location and client approval — not individual home addresses.

Q: How do I know if a shift includes a stipend?
A: The stipend amount will be clearly listed in the job details before you accept the shift.

Q: How is the stipend paid?
A: The stipend is paid per shift through payroll, like your regular wages.

Q: Can Operations book my ride for me?
A: Transportation booking is no longer standard practice. Employees are responsible for arranging their own transportation.

Q: What if my transportation costs more than the stipend?
A: You are responsible for any cost beyond the stipend amount.

Q: What if my transportation costs less than the stipend?
A: You keep the difference.
