Shift Confirmation & Decline Options in the Snapchef App

Overview

The Snapchef App now provides employees with the ability to confirm or decline scheduled shifts directly within the platform. This feature is integrated with both the employee app and the Snapchef database to enhance communication and scheduling accuracy.


Policy Details

1. Confirming and Declining Shifts

Employees can now confirm or decline their assigned shifts in the Snapchef App.

2. Impact of Declining Shifts

  • If an employee declines a shift and has multiple shifts assigned on the same day, the system will automatically decline all shifts for that day.

  • Declining one shift will effectively remove the employee from all scheduled shifts for that day at that specific location.

3. Notification Process

  • When an employee declines a shift, the assigned manager will automatically receive an email notification.

  • The employee’s name will also be removed from the shift(s) in the Snapchef database.

4. Time Off Requests

If an employee cannot work on a specific day but has multiple shifts assigned throughout the week, they must submit a Time Off Request rather than declining shifts through the app.

5. Purpose of This Feature

This enhancement is designed to:

  • Improve scheduling accuracy

  • Streamline communication between employees and management

  • Ensure real-time staffing adjustments

  • Reduce scheduling conflicts and delays in shift coverage
