How to Use Uber for Business – Snapchef

Introduction

To support our team members who need reliable transportation to and from job sites, Snapchef partners with Uber for Business. This guide will walk you through how to set up your Uber account, join the Snapchef business profile, and book rides correctly so that your transportation is covered and you arrive on time.

Step 1: Download and Set Up the Uber App

  1. Download the Uber app from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).
  2. Open the app and follow the prompts to log in or create a new account.
    • If you're creating an account, you’ll need to add a credit or debit card.
    • Important: As long as you select the Business Profile when booking your rides, you will not be charged personally.

Step 2: Join the Snapchef Uber for Business Account

  1. Check your email for a message titled “Uber for Business.”
  2. Click “Join Now” and follow the prompts to connect your account.

 

Booking a Ride

  1. In the Uber app, tap “Ride” (bottom left corner).
    • Do not select “Reserve.”
  2. Enter your pickup address and drop-off address from the SnapApp.
  3. If you are sharing the ride with another employee:
    • Tap the "+" (plus sign) on the right to add a third stop.
    • Use this format:
      • Stop 1: Your address
      • Stop 2: Other employee’s address
      • Stop 3: Job site address
    •              
  4. Select your pickup time or drop-off time carefully.
    • Make sure it allows you to arrive on time for work.
    •    
  5. At the bottom of the screen, tap the suitcase icon to switch to your Business Profile.
    • It should display SNAPCHEF.
    • Only book UberX rides (do not select premium or other ride types).
  6. Confirm your pickup location.
  7. When prompted for the Expense Code, enter the Client Name exactly as it appears in the SnapApp.
    • Example: RI Convention Center
  8. Book your ride and check the Activity tab to confirm it has been scheduled correctly.
